DANI LOUJO
In April 2024, multidisciplinary artist Dani Loujo collaborated with women in various stages of motherhood, including members of the Community Roots Midwife Collective, to create a deeply meaningful community art project. Participants were guided through expressive watercolor techniques, exploring themes of transformation and personal growth. Through mindful discussions, the group reflected on resilience, care, and the evolving journey of motherhood. The project culminated in a stunning butterfly installation, symbolizing metamorphosis and interconnectedness, and celebrating the unique and collective stories of the mothers involved. This project highlighted the power of art to nurture, heal, and strengthen community bonds.

EVA MAIER & MATTI BERGLUND
In June 2024, artists-in-residence Eva Maier and Matti Berglund led an inspiring program with teens from Rocky Mountain Equality, celebrating Pride Month through the transformative power of art. Together, they explored themes of identity and self-expression, guiding participants in creating dynamic transformation masks using plaster and mixed media materials. Each mask reflected the unique journeys and creative voices of the teens involved. The program culminated in a public showcase at the New Local Annex, where the masks were displayed as powerful symbols of growth, pride, and individuality. This collaborative project emphasized the importance of community, creativity, and visibility in honoring LGBTQIA+ stories and experiences.
